WordPress is well-known for its ease of installation. Under most circumstances, installing WordPress is a very simple process and takes less than five minutes to complete. Our web hosting offer tools (e.g. Softaculous App Installer) to automatically install WordPress for you.
In today’s lesson, we will learn how to install wordpress in cpanel enabled web hosting.
– Login to your cpanel
Your cpanel link will be http://yourdomain.com/cpanel .
– Scroll down to the bottom of the cpanel page when logged in. There is a section called Softaculous Apps Installer in the new Cpanel. See image below:
As you can see from the picture above that wordpress icon is the first on the row. Click on the WordPress icon to initiate the installation.
– Once clicked, an overview of the WordPress script will be displayed with different option to choose from. Click Install menu to start the installation. See image below:
On the installation page:
Fill your site details
If your site has SSL, then please choose the HTTPS protocol.
Please choose the domain to install the software.
The directory is relative to your domain and should not exist. e.g. To install at http://mydomain/dir/ just type dir. To install only in http://mydomain/ leave this empty.
Next is Database setings, you can leave the database table prefix the default wp or assign a name to your database table but i will recommend to leave at the default wp.
You will need to fill your site settings also
|Enable Multisite (WPMU)
This feature will Enable Multisite option for your WordPress blog.
Your server must support Apache mod_rewrite to use this feature.
Choose your site language, English is the default language.
After filling the above settings, scroll down the page to begin the installation
You might want to receive the installation details in your email, enter your email , then click INSTALL. See image below:
Wait till the installation is finished
Once the progress bar reaches 100%.. You have successfully install wordpress on your website.
